Alex is a kind and loving greyhound with an old soul and a gentle heart.
Some of you may remember Alex’s special appeal with his sister Emily. After careful consideration and further assessment, we decided it was best to separate them, and both are happy and thriving after going their separate ways.
Emily has found her forever home, while Alex is back with us at the kennels, happy and patiently waiting for his perfect home to come along!
This calm and affectionate boy is happiest when he's with his favourite humans, enjoying the simple pleasures in life like slow, sniffy walks, cuddles, and plenty of lounging around. His laid-back demeanour and sweet, affectionate nature will have you head over heels in love with him from the moment you meet him.
Alex is a master of relaxation, often found roaching on his back with his legs in the air, perfectly content. Despite his calm nature, he has a playful side and enjoys a daily burst of zoomies that will bring a smile to anyone's face.
This charming boy, with his handsome looks and loveable personality, has quickly become a staff favourite. We all adore Alex and want nothing more than to see him find the perfect forever home where he can live the peaceful, happy life he deserves.
Being older, Alex is super chilled out and will spend most of his days cuddled up with his humans or napping on the sofa. He is already house-trained and separation-trained, which is a huge plus for anyone considering adopting him.
Alex thrives on a structured routine, as it helps him feel secure and know what to expect each day. In his previous home, he experienced some anxiety, leading to barking and other behaviours like getting into cupboards. However, with the right environment and a predictable routine, these behaviours are not expected to be an issue. Since returning to the kennels, Alex has been nothing but an angel, showing no signs of these past anxieties.
Alex is currently kennelled alone and enjoying his own space. He would be perfectly content as the only dog in a home. However, having lived with his sister Emily for over a year, he also thrived with some company and support. So, we believe he would also do well with another calm hound or two to help him feel comfortable in his new environment.
Alex is a sensitive soul who is looking for a quiet, laid-back lifestyle, making an adult-only home or one with teenagers ideal for him. A busy household or one with young children wouldn't allow him to thrive or truly be himself. At 8 years old, Alex would much prefer a peaceful household where he can fully relax.
He is fully socialized and comfortable around other breeds. Alex is completely unfazed by other dogs and their presence and has incredible manners when interacting with them. He has a lovely, well-adjusted nature and a gentle personality, making him a perfect forever hound!
Unfortunately, as an older black greyhound, Alex may be overlooked, but it's a shame because he has so much to offer. He's a staff favourite, a truly special dog, and he's so deserving of a home that will provide him with the love and security he needs.
Alex is truly an exceptional dog who will bring immense joy to his forever family. We can’t wait to see him find the love and security he so deeply deserves!
