Benji is truly a stunning boy, with his beautiful blue coat and the most expressive, adorable ears that perfectly complement his charming personality. From the moment you meet him, it’s hard not to fall head over heels for his sweet, sensitive soul.
Benji is a true gentleman, always ready to share affection with the humans around him. Though he may have taken a little longer to reveal his full personality, we’re incredibly lucky to witness his kind-hearted, loving nature come out more and more each day. There’s not a single bad bone in Benji’s body—he’s simply a joy to be around.
Though Benji is small for a male greyhound, standing as tall as many of the females here, there’s nothing small about the love he has to give. His enthusiasm for life is contagious, and that wagging tail brings smiles to everyone who meets him. When Benji’s tail wags, his entire body seems to join in, making it impossible not to laugh and smile alongside him.
One of Benji’s standout traits is the deep bonds he forms with the people who care for him. He thrives on one-on-one attention, and his face lights up with pure joy whenever he realizes he’s about to get snuggles. He’s incredibly in tune with human emotions, often sensing when someone is feeling down and instantly wanting to comfort them.
His compassionate nature makes him a special dog, one who is sure to be a loyal and loving companion to anyone lucky enough to adopt him. It’s impossible not to adore his gentle and thoughtful spirit.
Benji’s love for walks is another part of his personality that shines brightly. The moment the lead comes out, he gets so excited, ready to head out and explore the world with his human companions. Initially, his eagerness made him a bit strong on the lead, but since switching to a harness, he’s been improving each day.
Benji recently had the opportunity to enjoy a socialization session at the park, and he truly shined. When he encountered a pack of five small dogs, Benji’s gentle and friendly nature made it easy for him to make new friends. He handled the situation with calmness and confidence, showing just how adaptable and comfortable he is when out and about.
His easy-going demeanour around traffic and his ability to travel well only adds to the list of reasons why Benji is the whole package. We’re certain he’s going to thrive in a home, and we can’t wait to see him get the happy ending he so deserves.
One of Benji’s unique qualities is his initial shyness when meeting new people. He can sometimes come across as a little aloof at first, but that only makes him more special. As you spend time with him, you’ll see his true personality blossom and the bond you form will be all the more meaningful because of it. Once Benji knows you, he’s incredibly affectionate and loyal.
At the kennels, Benji currently shares his space with Gypsy, and they get along very well. He’s happy in the company of other greyhounds and would be happy to live alongside them in his forever home. However, Benji is also perfectly content on his own and could easily be the only dog in the home, soaking up all the attention and love as the centre of his human’s world.
His adaptable personality means he’ll fit well into a variety of homes, whether that’s with a family that includes older children or teenagers, or an adult-only home with a calm, relaxed atmosphere.
It should come as no surprise that Benji passed his dog test with flying colours. He was gentle, polite, and friendly throughout, showing his wonderful temperament with each interaction. Benji has the potential to live alongside other breeds, provided the introductions are done properly, and his love for all dogs (big or small) is evident in how he interacts with them.
He’s truly a special boy, with so much love and affection to give, and we know he won’t be waiting long for his forever family. His playful, affectionate, and loving nature makes him the perfect addition to any home, and we know that whoever gives him a forever home will be gaining a truly remarkable companion.
Benji’s journey may have taken a little more time, but now that his personality has blossomed, it’s clear that he’s ready to share his big heart with a family who will love him as much as we do.
