REHOME Benny

Benny is truly one of a kind. He’s an absolute gem of a dog, and we all adore him. He’s the kind of companion everyone dreams of – gentle, loving, and endlessly kind.

Unfortunately, Benny just seems to have been dealt a bit of bad luck. He’s been returned to us twice now, and through no fault of his own. Both times were simply down to very unfortunate circumstances, but Benny has taken it all in his stride, coming back into our care without a single fuss.

He’s been the perfect kennel guest, but as wonderful as he is here, we know that Benny belongs in a loving home. We’re desperate to find him a family quickly before he begins to realise they’re not coming back, which can be so heartbreaking for dogs like him.

Benny is what we like to call a cuddle monster. He’s a proper lap dog and would happily spend every hour of the day snuggled up on the sofa, curled into his favourite human. He loves people and just wants to be involved in everything you’re doing.

His gentle, kind nature makes him so easy to love, and he quickly charms everyone he meets. New walkers, visitors, or people meeting a greyhound for the first time always say the same thing: “I’m absolutely in love with him.” That sums Benny up perfectly – he’s the kind of dog who wins over hearts within moments.

Despite being just three years old, Benny has an old soul. He’s calm, laid-back, and unfazed by the world around him, always taking each day as it comes. Benny is perfectly content to spend his days snoozing and relaxing, soaking up the peace and quiet.

At the same time, he has a cheeky, playful side that is impossible not to fall in love with. He may not show it straight away, but when he does, it will have you laughing out loud. Watching Benny play is a joy, and it reminds us how much fun he brings to every day.

Benny is a smaller greyhound, especially compared to some of the big boys we have at the kennels right now, but what he lacks in size he makes up for with the biggest heart.

We know Benny’s family is out there somewhere, and we can’t wait for him to finally get the happy ending he deserves. He’s had more than his fair share of bad luck in his short life, but that hasn’t changed how loving and loyal he is. Benny is the perfect companion – a sweet, cuddly boy who will fill your home with love and laughter.

Benny is an incredibly adaptable boy who has kennelled beautifully, whether on his own or with a companion. He’s currently sharing with Dancer, and the two get along wonderfully, but Benny has proven time and time again that he’s happy either way. In his previous homes, he lived as the only dog and settled perfectly well, so if you’re looking for a single dog to spoil, Benny would be more than content. That said, if you already have a sighthound at home, Benny will make a fantastic companion for them too!

One of Benny’s standout qualities is how social and well-mannered he is around other dogs, regardless of breed. He has been excellently behaved in his small dog tests, showing no issues or worries when meeting different dogs. Having lived in a home environment before, Benny has been fully socialised and has already seen just about every breed you can think of.

Benny is also fully house-trained and has had separation training, which means he’s already used to the routines of home life. He truly is a “ready-made” dog who just wants a quiet, loving place to call his forever home.

It’s such a shame for him to have experienced so much bad luck because he really is the perfect boy – there’s no hidden catch or flaw with Benny at all. He’s gentle, loving, and incredibly easy to live with.

When it comes to family life, Benny is a very social and affectionate boy, but he would prefer a home with older, dog-savvy children, teenagers, or adults. While he adores people, very young children can sometimes overwhelm him as they can be a little too excitable or invasive. Benny loves his quiet time and values his space, so as long as the children are mature and respectful, he’ll be more than happy to share a home with them. Benny would also thrive in an adult-only home, where he can enjoy peace, relaxation, and all the love and attention he deserves.

It’s truly remarkable how Benny has stayed so perfect despite all the challenges he’s faced. Being returned twice and no doubt feeling confused about what he did wrong would take its toll on any dog, but not Benny. His kind and gentle nature has never wavered, and he continues to love unconditionally. All he needs now is someone who will love him back in the same way and give him the forever home he so deeply deserves.

Benny is a loyal, sweet, and affectionate boy who has been waiting far too long for his happy ending. If you can give him the love and stability he craves, you won’t just be gaining a dog – you’ll be welcoming the most wonderful companion into your life.
