REHOME Bonnie & Clyde

Bonnie and Clyde may be famous for being partners in crime but this adorable duo is only guilty of stealing all of our hearts here at the kennels.

Bonnie and Clyde are a truly extraordinary pair of greyhounds, with a bond so special it’s impossible not to fall in love with them.

These two unraced puppies came to us incredibly nervous and unsure of the world. It’s heartbreaking to think back to their first few days with us when they were so frightened that even simple tasks like moving them in and out of the kennel were overwhelming.

They are still young, innocent souls trying to find their place in a world that feels so big and scary to them. But despite their initial fears, they have already come such a long way. In the right home, with a patient and understanding family, we know they will continue to blossom into the brave and happy dogs we know they can be.

Bonnie and Clyde are looking for a calm and loving home where they can grow at their own pace without any pressure. They are still learning to trust humans they don’t know, but with us—the ones who feed them, care for them, and shower them with love—they’ve started to let their personalities shine.

These two are inseparable and find comfort in each other’s presence. Most days, you’ll find them curled up together in their kennel, quietly watching the world go by. Their absolute favourite time is when they’re out in the grass paddock. As soon as they step into the open space, their ears perk up, and they run around with joy and freedom—a sight that truly warms your heart.

Their bond is nothing short of remarkable. Clyde has always been Bonnie’s protector, especially in those early days when she was the more nervous of the two. Even though he was scared himself, Clyde stayed close to her, making sure she felt safe. Watching him care for her so lovingly, even while battling his own fears, was both heartwarming and heartbreaking. Now, as they grow more comfortable, we’ve started to see their unique personalities come through, and they couldn’t be more wonderful.

Bonnie is a small, gentle, and sensitive girl with the kindest heart. Her sweet little mousey ears and soulful puppy-dog eyes make her irresistible, but it’s her inner beauty that truly shines.

Over the past few weeks, she has become more affectionate, often nuzzling into me and softly kissing my hands when I sit with her. It’s her special way of showing love, and it makes you feel so cherished.

Bonnie’s love is precious and not given lightly, so when she trusts you enough to show her affection, it feels incredibly special. In a forever home, she will undoubtedly become the biggest cuddle bug, offering so much love in return for a kind and patient heart.

Clyde, on the other hand, is a charming, gentle, and caring boy who exudes calm and warmth. He’s also quite small for a male greyhound, with the most endearing puppy-dog eyes.

Clyde’s good nature is unmatched; there isn’t a single bad bone in his body. He has a quiet strength about him that makes everyone around him feel safe and relaxed. Spending time with Clyde is a soothing experience, but he also has a cheeky, playful side that is starting to emerge more each day.

He loves to be close to people he trusts, and when you sit with him, he’ll hop onto the bed, sniff you excitedly, and then plonk himself right next to you for some gentle strokes. He’s an incredibly loving and loyal boy who will bring so much comfort and joy to his forever family.

Keeping Bonnie and Clyde together is a priority for us because their bond is truly one of a kind. They are each other’s greatest source of comfort and confidence, and it’s clear that their love for one another runs deep.

In the right home, with a family who understands their nervous beginnings and is willing to give them the time and space they need, Bonnie and Clyde will flourish into the most wonderful companions. These two special greyhounds are waiting for a forever home where they can finally feel safe, loved, and understood—and in return, they will fill their new family’s life with so much love and joy.

We all feel so honoured that Bonnie and Clyde have chosen to trust us and show us their vulnerable side. It’s been an incredible journey to watch them take steps, however small, towards growing in confidence. Every little bit of progress, whether it’s a wag of the tail or a moment of curiosity, fills us with so much joy.

These two special greyhounds are looking for a home with people who have experience with nervous and anxious dogs—people who understand that their fear is not just a little hesitation but deep uncertainty about life and the unknown. They need someone who will celebrate those baby steps with them and who has the time, patience, and understanding to help them grow.

The right environment for Bonnie and Clyde will be a calm and quiet adult-only home, ideally with adults or older teenagers who understand the importance of giving them space when they need it.

A busy household with lots of visitors or young children would be overwhelming for them, so a relaxed and settled lifestyle is exactly what they need to thrive. For those who live a slower-paced life and enjoy a quiet home, Bonnie and Clyde could be the perfect addition to your family.

Bonnie and Clyde adore other hounds and would be happy living alongside one or more in their forever home. A confident greyhound could even help them see that the world isn’t as scary as it seems, serving as a role model and showing them the ropes.

However, they are equally happy in each other’s company and would do just fine as the only dogs in a home. Their bond with each other is so special that, as long as they’re together, they feel secure.

When they were tested with our dog testing Spaniel Blossom, they were understandably hesitant at first, but with time and freedom to explore at their own pace, they began to feel more comfortable. This gentle and unpressured introduction shows that they can adjust to other breeds and dogs with the right sensitive and positive approach.

Potential adopters should be aware that Bonnie and Clyde may not show much of their personalities during meetings. They are likely to appear withdrawn and shut down at first and won’t come bounding over to interact. But this is no reflection of who they are; it simply means they need time to adjust.

Their true selves—full of love, sweetness, and quiet bravery—will only shine once they feel safe and begin to trust their new family. Anyone considering adopting them will need to be prepared to take the time to build that trust and see the wonderful, loving dogs they truly are.

We all deeply hope that someone will read this and fall in love with Bonnie and Clyde, just as we have. They deserve to be appreciated for the incredible souls they are and given the chance to thrive in a home filled with love and understanding. They are so special to us, and we know they have so much love to give in return.

Bonnie and Clyde are waiting for their forever family—one that will give them the safe, calm, and loving home they truly deserve. Could that be you?
