Unlike the song, we can’t stop talking about Bruno because he’s just that loveable!
Bruno is a lovable, gentle giant with a heart as big as can be. He truly is an angel, with the sweetest nature and the kindest soul.
Weighing in at around 38kg, he may be a big boy, but don’t let his size put you off. He is one of the most chilled-out, well-behaved, and friendly dogs you could ever meet. Because he’s so calm and easy-going in the kennels, I often forget just how big he is!
From the moment Bruno arrived, he left us speechless. He is one of the most stunning greyhounds I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. His striking colour, combined with those irresistible puppy-dog eyes, make him utterly charming – and I have no doubt he knows how to use them to get his way!
But it’s not just his appearance that makes him special, Bruno is a true gentleman. He has a kind and caring nature and always seems to know when you need a little extra love. If you’re having an off day, he’s the first to check in on you, offering quiet companionship and comfort.
Bruno has settled into kennel life as if he’s always been here, quickly winning over both the staff and the other hounds. He is such a likeable dog – you’ll fall in love with him the second you meet him. He’s the definition of laid-back, spending most of his days snoozing without a care in the world. Getting to know him has been an absolute pleasure, as he is so well-behaved, affectionate, and good-natured.
We do not doubt that Bruno will settle into home life just as effortlessly. He’ll likely make himself comfortable on his forever sofa, happily dozing the days away. His relaxed, easy-going nature, so typical of male greyhounds, makes him the perfect best friend. He’s gentle, affectionate, and friendly, yet he also has a cheeky, playful side that balances out his calm and loving personality.
Bruno has been marked as yellow due to his higher prey drive. Like other greyhounds, he has a natural instinct to chase small furries such as cats, squirrels, and hares. This isn’t his fault—it’s simply in his genetics!
Because of this, Bruno will need a confident owner who is happy to work with him using some basic training to help desensitise him to his triggers. While this is just a small part of who Bruno is, we must find him the right home—one that understands his needs and is committed to helping him feel secure.
Bruno has had two dog tests with us, and in his most recent one, he did incredibly well. He was a little excitable at first when meeting Blossom, but after a good sniff, he quickly lost interest and settled down.
We then walked them up the road together, and he remained completely calm, showing no signs of being triggered by her presence. While Bruno is generally relaxed around other dogs, off-lead dogs could be a challenge for him, as they can sometimes be unpredictable and overwhelming.
Because of this, a home right next to a busy dog park wouldn’t be ideal for him. However, with the right environment and the right people, we know his prey drive can be managed, and over time, his triggers will become less of an issue.
At the moment, Bruno shares his kennel with the lovely Cailin, and the two get on brilliantly. He enjoys the company of other greyhounds, so he would love to share his forever home with a calm female hound who could help him feel more relaxed on his walks. That being said, Bruno is also an independent boy and would be just as happy as the only dog in the home, as long as he gets plenty of love and attention from his humans.
Bruno would fit well into a home with dog-savvy children, teenagers, and adults. Given his size and his prey drive, a home with very young children wouldn’t be the best match for him. However, he has met older children here and has been incredibly gentle and loving towards them. With the right family, Bruno will make the most wonderful companion—a loyal, affectionate, and kind-hearted boy who will bring so much joy to his forever home.
Bruno is a truly special boy with so much love to give—he just needs the right home where he can feel safe, understood, and cherished. With a patient and confident owner by his side, he will thrive, bringing endless joy, loyalty, and companionship to his forever family.
