Although Jessie is gentle and chilled, she also has that wonderful greyhound goofiness that makes her such a joy to be around. She loves her zoomies and has the cheekiest little sassy streak, especially when she’s feeling happy and comfortable.
Her playful, fun-loving side is already starting to shine through and will only grow stronger once she’s settled into her forever home. That balance of calm and cheeky makes her truly one of a kind.
Jessie will be a little reserved at first, just as she was when she arrived with us. She may not show her full personality straight away, and potential adopters need to understand that her love is something to be earned, not instantly given. But that’s exactly what makes her so special—because when she does open up, it’s real, and it’s deep. She doesn’t give her heart to just anyone, and when she chooses you, you’ll feel like the luckiest person in the world.
She isn’t nervous, just more reserved, and she needs to feel safe and secure before letting her true personality shine. But when she does, it’s truly something beautiful to witness.

We all love her so much, and we know someone out there will see her for the exceptional girl she is—and give her the forever home she so deeply deserves.
Jessie currently shares her kennel with Albert, who she adores and loves to pieces. Albert has been a real source of comfort and confidence for Jessie while she’s been settling in here at the kennels.
She’s very social and friendly with all the greyhounds and truly enjoys spending time with them. Because of this, we think she would love to live in a home with another hound or two to show her the ropes of home life—especially if they’re calm and gentle like her much-loved Albert.
That said, Jessie doesn’t fully rely on other hounds, and with the right humans who can give her the love, patience, and understanding she needs, she would also do beautifully as the only dog in the home.
She would simply need time to adjust and a gentle, loving environment where she feels safe and secure.
Jessie would be very happy living with older, dog-savvy children who respect her space and quieter nature. A home with young children wouldn’t be the best match for Jessie, as she prefers a peaceful lifestyle where she can relax, feel calm, and enjoy cuddles on her own terms.
An adult-only home would also suit her perfectly, especially one where she can be the centre of her humans world and enjoy the slower pace of life she so loves.
During her dog test, Jessie was a little unsure of Blossom at first, but with time, space, and lots of sniffs, she relaxed and was happy to walk up the road alongside her.
Like many greyhounds, Jessie will benefit from continued gentle socialisation with other breeds and plenty of encouragement to help her grow in confidence.
Jessie’s calming presence, kind heart, and ability to form deep and meaningful bonds make her a true gem—and someone will be incredibly lucky to call her theirs.
She may take a little time to show her true self, but once she does, you’ll have the most loyal, loving and special companion you could ever wish for.
