Her fabulous pointy ears add a delightful touch to her already beautiful little face, making her truly one of a kind. Though she may be small in size, Nala’s heart is anything but—she is overflowing with love and affection, ready to share it with everyone she meets.
Nala adores people and is incredibly affectionate, both with humans and her fellow hounds. People are everything to her—she thrives on being close to them and cherishes every moment spent together.
It’s impossible to walk past her kennel without noticing her little face peeking through the bars, tail wagging excitedly, begging for a hug or a kiss. She’s a cuddle bug through and through, and she would love to snuggle up on the sofa with her forever family. Nala truly believes she’s a lap dog, and her warm cuddles would melt anyone’s heart.
Her fun-loving and playful side shines brightly in everything she does. Nala’s silly bursts of energy are guaranteed to make you laugh, bringing joy and happiness wherever she goes. She has a special way of lighting up every room she enters, and her cheerful, caring nature is simply unmatched. While she has a little extra energy due to her young age, she also loves her naps, especially when she can snuggle up to her kennel mate, Alan. Nala is the perfect balance of playful and chilled, making her adaptable to any home.
In the kennels, Nala is always happy, clean, and so excited to see her human friends. It’s hard to believe she hasn’t found her forever family yet, as she’s beautiful inside and out.
Nala will brighten the lives of whoever is lucky enough to welcome her into their home, filling it with love, laughter, and endless cuddles. She truly is a one-in-a-million greyhound, ready to make someone’s heart whole.
The only thing that might hold Nala back from finding her forever home is her racing injury. She suffered a serious break to her hock, which now has metalwork in place, and as a result, she easily comes up lame. At the moment, Nala is only going on short 10–15-minute walks once a day, as anything more would be too much for her.
While this could improve gradually over time, her future family will need to understand that Nala has limits when it comes to exercise. She’ll never be able to handle long or overly active outings, but I truly hope this doesn’t discourage anyone from considering her. This is just a tiny part of who Nala is, and it doesn’t take away from the amazing companion she will be.
Currently, Nala shares her kennel with Alan, one of our long-stay residents, and the two have formed a beautiful bond. Nala adores him and spends her time snuggled up next to him or affectionately pawing at him. We know she’d be thrilled to share a home with another sighthound, making her a fantastic choice for anyone looking for a loving friend for their current dog.
Nala is happy with either male or female companions, as she has lived peacefully with both. That said, she is also a content and independent girl who would do just as well as the only hound in the home as long as she has the love and affection of her humans.
Nala is incredibly adaptable and versatile. She would happily live in a home with dog-savvy children, teenagers, or adults. While young children unfamiliar with dogs might not be ideal—due to the risk of accidentally bumping her injured leg—she has shown that she loves little humans and would enjoy living alongside them in the right setting. Similarly, she would thrive in a mature household with adults or teenagers, soaking up all the attention as the centre of her family’s world.
During her dog tests, Nala’s true nature shone through. She was far more interested in fuss from her humans than in the dog-testing spaniel, Blossom. After politely sniffing Blossom, she quickly turned her attention back to her humans, but she walked happily side by side with Blossom, showing her calm and easy going nature.
Nala is truly a one-of-a-kind girl with so much love to give. Whether snuggling up for a cuddle or bringing joy with her playful bursts of energy, she has a way of making everyone around her smile.
