Although Steel struggled with the initial transition into our kennels, we’ve adjusted our routine to help him feel more at home. He gets everything first, which has eased his anxiety, but he still occasionally shows signs of frustration and subtle stress. While it’s not a major concern, it’s clear that Steel is more than ready to find his forever home.
He longs for a settled environment where he can be the centre of attention and showered with the love and affection he craves. I truly believe Steel will thrive in a home filled with endless love, where he can finally be at peace and live his best life with his forever humans.
Steel is a beautiful greyhound with a loving heart and a playful nature, but he also values his own space. Currently kennelled alone, we believe Steel would thrive as the only dog in a home where he can soak up all the attention. However, he may also do well with a calm female hound to show him the joys of home life.
Steel is best suited for a household with older, dog-savvy children, teenagers, or adults. Due to his playful energy, younger children might not be the best match, but if you have older kids looking for a happy-go-lucky play buddy, Steel is more than perfect!
During his dog test, Steel was eager to meet Blossom, approaching her with excitement. However, after a polite sniff, he quickly calmed down and walked calmly alongside her, showing his well-mannered and gentle side.
While Steel can get a bit excitable on the lead, switching him to a harness has made a world of difference. He’s much calmer and more relaxed, and we ask that his forever family continues to walk him with a harness, as he truly thrives with it when on his walks.
Aside from his initial excitement, Steel is a kind, gentle, and affectionate boy who is so deserving of a loving home. His playful and sweet nature will bring joy to any family lucky enough to welcome him into their lives.
